During windy conditions, we recommend opening blinds and louvres to avoid any damage to the structure.
KEY CONSIDERATIONS
Aluminium louvered roof pergolas are designed to utilize the natural fall of your existing surface for rain drainage, requiring a slight incline. It's essential to accurately measure the area and ensure a flat surface with a maximum 1:80 fall, as per building regulations. Any deviation from this may necessitate the use of packers to adjust the pergola legs. For optimal fitting of deluxe screens, a 10mm fall is recommended to ensure smooth operation. Note that packers or adjustments may be necessary if the fall exceeds this recommendation.
Pre-Installation Groundwork:
For optimal stability and peace of mind, it's crucial to securely mount your pergola onto a solid foundation. Beneath the finished surface, a stable substrate such as a concrete pad is essential for secure anchoring. Prior to our installation, it's imperative that all groundwork is adequate and, where necessary, completed. Please note that our installers are not authorized to perform groundwork tasks, so you may need to enlist the assistance of a local handyman for this preparation. This is your responsibility and we urge you to check all relevant groundwork requirements prior to ordering. We shall not be responsible nor liable for any required groundwork.
INSTALLATION RECOMMENDATIONS
Concrete Pad: We highly recommend utilizing Blue Circle High Strength Postcrete spec 40N for the concrete pad. It's crucial to ensure that the pad's slope matches that of the designated surface for optimal stability.
Detailed Floorplans: Detailed floorplans for each pergola model are readily available on our website. These plans enable you to clearly identify the precise positioning of the pergola's footplates. Simply visit www.Bramblecrest.com and navigate to the product pages.
Selecting Pergola Size: Before initiating any groundwork, it's advisable to finalize your pergola size selection. However, if you've already laid the patio or deck, it's imperative to verify the robustness of the surface foundations. This is your sole responsibility.
Choice of Materials: Materials such as Type1, sand, cement, or concrete are inadequate unless they contain ballast, which is provided by Blue Circle Postcrete.
Installation on Composite Decking: When installing your pergola on composite decking without a solid base beneath, ensure there are structural beams aligned with the footplates for secure bolting. We recommend using postcrete pads of 400mm³ beneath tiles or decking, or structural joists under the decking, to enhance stability. It is the customers responsibility to ensure ground fixings are adequate.
Drilling and Fixing: Fixing bolts are supplied with the pergolas, or you can use 70-120mm steel bolts, or steel threaded bar set into the ground with quick cure polyester resin and diamond drill bits for porcelain tiles. Additional packing may occasionally be necessary to achieve correct levels.
Note on Porcelain Tiles: Exercises extreme caution when drilling porcelain tiles, please be aware that we cannot be held responsible for tile cracking due to surface laying or proximity to grout lines. If you agree to drilling and fixing into porcelain tiles, all works undertaken will be at your risk and you agree to waive any and all rights against us for any damage caused. Accordingly, we shall not be liable for any damage to porcelain tiles, unless caused by our negligence.
Electrical Installations: Our installation team is not trained in electrical work. Therefore, for any heater installations, please arrange for a qualified local electrician to perform the fitting. We shall not be responsible nor liable for any electrical or gas installations whatsoever.
Installation Note:
Please note, cover caps can not be fitted if Bramblecrest are installing the pergola with blinds. If you wish to have cover caps, the blinds will need to be installed by a 3rd party after the pergola has been fitted to the ground. Bolts caps will be supplied instead of cover caps if Bramblecrest installs the pergola and blinds.
